Award winning filmmaker Melanie Pereira gave a masterclass for the Video Workshop I students on Thursday Sept. 26th. It was an excellent opportunity for students to learn about her creative process and professional experience. A special thanks to IPOR for inviting Melanie as part of the DOCLisboa extension in Macao. Melaine shared a short documentary Descriptive Memory (2020) about her family’s immigration experience, themes which continue in her first feature “As Melusinas à Margem do Rio (2023).
