An old man has been running a waffle stall in a place for half a century, and the big tree that shades them has witnessed the changes of them and the city. One day, the old man came across a schoolboy who reminded him of a special time in his past, as well as some old promises that turned to regrets.

During the pandemic, everyone was required to use a health code to prove their health condition. Fang Fang’s health code suddenly became a red code for some reason, which brought her a series of trouble. In the end, under the pressure from all parties, things took an unexpected turn.

Coming from the countryside of Guangdong, Wei takes his son Tong Tong on a journey to Macau where his deceased wife’s hometown was. They are muddling through in this extravagant city, just wanting to be accepted. In the cramped, impoverished and dark corner, outsiders like them are humble as dust, obscured silently in this city.
