The Department of Communication within the Faculty of Social Sciences will screen student films from the Video Workshop I course this Dec. 16th at 6pm in E4-G078. This semester there are 8 short fiction films focusing on a variety of social issues from school bullying to social isolation. Reception of guests will start from 5:30pm and the screening will run from 6pm-8pm.
Dice 壹乘陸
Description:
A boy called Ben has been bullied by other classmates for a long period of time. His spirit is constantly tortured. This kind of life makes Ben have six kinds of personality, just like the six sides of a dice.
The Endless Tunnel 無間隧道
Description:
A short film about an office worker and the pressures she faces in the office. The film follows her uncanny discovery on the way home from work.
Control 控制
Description:
A boy sends a rose to a girl as a symbol of love; but as the flower withers, the love between them gradually changes.
Escape 遊離
Description:
A short film about a student who has trouble balancing her late night gaming and her studies.
Only him 唯他
Description:
The pronunciation of vita (維他)in Cantonese is the same as our film name 唯他. Also, vita lemon tea is a clue leading to the development of character relationship in our film.
Before We Met 我不要告別
Description:
Cheng is a positive girl, who always shows the bright side in front of others, people do not know that she is secretly planning for something. Although she is acting very normal, she is in fact counting down her life; but she is afraid that people around her would get hurt because of her death, so she is wondering if there is a way to deal with this situation. One day, she discovers a way to erase memories, so she is trying to work this out to protect the people around her and herself from being hurt.

In western culture, the moon or Luna has the meaning of chaos and lunatics. But in Chinese culture, the moon often represents the feeling of missing someone. In our film, the light of the moon lamp guides an elder sister back to reality.
