Students in the Video Workshop II course will screen their films on April 24th, at 7pm in the E31 Student Union Theatre. These five short films are produced by 4th year students in the Dept. of Communication specializing in Creative Media.

Video Workshop II is a capstone course that is designed to challenge students to think critically and creatively through the hands-on experience of making their own short films.  The theme for this semester is “Cinema of Correspondence.” Correspondence contains two meanings, one the use of letters and other forms of communication and the other linkages between things. The students have produced original short films that explore these two meanings and the unexpected connections between people and the living and material worlds around them.

Each one of these original short films also addresses issues and concerns important to this new generation of filmmakers, from the pressures they face at work to the changing landscape of new media.

All are welcome to this free public film screening. The screening will be followed by a Q & A session with these student filmmakers.
